The data shows a fairly normal distribution curve and a healthy average compensation (including salary and bonus) of $250,000. The Hedge Fund Search Digest Compensation Survey was designed to capture important compensation information directly from those involved in the hedge fund industry. We surveyed over 230 industry players from more than 200 hedge fund firms such as: Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley.
