The demographics behind this would be very interesting. How many Gen X&Y-ers keep a copy of the yellow (or white) pages on their shelf? They are entering the prime years for consumer spending - from that perspective, there is likely even more influence than what this data shows.
Lots of good local places aren't online and have no real reason to be except to show their address. I love the net, but it's hard to separate global results from strictly local.. unless you're talking about craigslist type sites.
