Though they make a great effort at it, it's impossible to keep hiring superstars at this rate. Ask any Googler who's been around more than a year.

Also, it's not clear to me how HR people are compensated. I suspect (though I don't know) that one of their metrics is getting people in the door, which incentivizes them to bring in anyone and everyone.
