While the original Census data can be found in U.S. Census Bureau's Current Population Survey Table HINC-06, I used it to calculate the number of households per $10,000 increments for this graph. This smooths out the curve while still showing the basic shape. Median is $46,000 while the Mean(average) is $63,000.
