I bet actual gorilla weight is a normal curve or a double hump normal curve, yet us humans mentioning them on the internet shows something thats not quite a normal curve!

Still, most people are pretty consistent in saying '800 lb gorilla.'

I never heard the expression, but an 800-pound gorilla (let alone a 1300-pound one) would be morbidly obese.
