Immigration reform is a political hot topic whereby candidates are expected to have a declared stance. The OECD immigration data show that in the United States, grants of green cards rose by about 240,000 after a decline of similar magnitude in 2003 in the aftermath of September 11th 2001. Annual immigration to the U.S. changes each year and temporary workers make up a small percent of total immigration. This graph shows the number of temporary workers in the U.S. by country or origin.
