Statistics Canada (http://www12.statcan.ca/eng...)
"According to Australia’s 2001 Census, 22% of its population was foreign-born, compared with 18% for Canada. Australia has had a higher proportion of foreign-born than Canada since 1971, ranging between 20% and 22%. In contrast, only 11% of the population of the United States was foreign-born in 2000. As in Canada, this proportion was the highest in 70 years." (Statistics Canada) —WomunOfColour

That's really interesting considering that the United States has been traditionally regarded as the melting pot of the globe. Looks like Canada and Australia actually have more diversity though.
