America’s music and culture. Originating in the San Francisco bay area, the Grateful Dead performed over 2,355 concerts with more than
22.2% of their concerts being played in the bay area and 38.3%
in California, preferring the Winterland Arena in San Francisco over all other venues. As expected, most
concerts were performed on the weekends, though no extreme
seasonal trend exists. An estimated 9.3% of Americans attended a rock concert in 2005.
