This really opened my eyes to how oil spills occur. This makes me want to tell them to examine their equipment more often. I mean really, now. Its almost always the equipment. You'd think those operators would be more careful. But then again, its their fault a good majority of the time too.
Once again our planet has succumbed to the fatal HUMAN ERROR. I am concerned that a "disorderly passenger" is the cause for one of the spills. Any information on who the passenger was? It seems so, odd, to say the least. For "suspicious activity", I'm guessing it's the mob.

This is truly disappointing data. If all of these activities are that costly to the environment then why don't they consider other less harmful transportation methods or maybe even lining the tank in case there is a crack.

Of all of these oil spills, which caused heavy environmental damage? I am surprised that there were this many that year, as we don't hear about the majority of them. It's very interesting to see the causes of them.
This is really sad. I guess looking at this data, we should change our ways and improve on what is already being done and be more careful. That's the only way can decrease the amount of oil spills.
