I hate stamps. I hate that they keep changing in price. I can never keep up.

What would be more interesting/informative is the price adjusted for inflation. I.e. are stamps relatively more expensive today or in the past?

Use a log scale for the cost, and compare to inflation, please

the Post Office was never supposed to make money. It wasn't formed as a business. Personally I'd be satisfied if they'd just pick up and deliver the mail reliably

Stamps are fine, but you should be able to use your old stamps on their own even after the price of new ones goes up - those 1 and 2 cent stamps are a waste of paper and adhesive.

A hate stamps.

A stamp killed my grandfather and molested my dog.

Walmart should start their own mail delivery system. It'd be like $.20 a stamp, I bet.

I work for the post office. NOw I see all the hard work and long hour that goes into the job. When I am off work I leave a treat for my mail carrier in my box. I am thankful for them. God supplies our needs even when cost go up. We could be carring the mail by horse or my foot ourselves. Let's be thankful!

It is quite clear that the increase of postage is the cause of global warming!

I saw an analysis somewhere on the real (inflation adjusted) price of postage. Despite regular increases in the nominal price, the real price has been falling. In other words, those perpetual first-class stamps are a ripoff.

To track inflation, it'd be interesting to plot the price of gold as well.

Oh, like every day low prices where you pay the surcharge in your hospital, because the mail (wo)man does not have health insurance.

I can't find on the internet what the current postage stamp rate even is today?!?!?! Is it now 39 cents or is it 41 cents? I currently have 37 cent flag stamps, 39 flag stamps cent stamps and 2 cent stamps. They need to change the look of the stamps when they change the rates. Then maybe I could keep up. What is the rate today, anyway?

It's 41 cents... Our mail carrier told us today. We didn't know about the increase, either.

What I can't understand is why the Post Office doesn't like "Round Numbers"...

Why 37 - 39 - 41 cents...

Let's try nickels...

30 --> 35 --> 40 --> 45 --> 50 cents..

And, I like the idea of buying a "first class stamp" and not having to worry about how much I actually paid for it... inflation will keep up with the cost... not sense in going out and buying a life-time supply of stamps now.
