Also, if I understand it correctly, the big drop in Apple's share price in early 2005 is from a stock split. I'd say this is a perfect example of "correlation does not imply causation." It's a good graph to show in a stats class.

The stock price is unadjusted, hence the drop. I'll put in adjusted data and see what that looks like in another graph.

I'd have to agree with paselkin. This Independent Variable appears to have, if anything, a superficial affect on the Dependent Variable. ownd.
