The more relevant statistic is the "rate of injury" rather than the raw number. This graph shows more injuries related to dancing than icehockey. As an ice hockey player I have trouble believing that dancing is more dangerous than ice hockey.

as a parent, I'm more interested in the rate of injury. Should I put my kid in rugby, ice hockey, squash or basketball? This suggests that basketball has high injuries, but I'm assuming that is because basketball has the highest partcipation rate.
Rugby has a low number, but I'll bet as a percentage of the people that play rugby, a high number sustain injury.

Yeah I agree. I think alot more kids play basketball, so it makes sense there are more injuries. I'll look for that data!
