Classy MIT Frat Guy: How are there so many Palestinian civilian deaths? The tactics of the 2 sides are very different. Palestinians have no problems with suicide bombings that are targeted at civilians and launching rockets into residential areas. Israel has a strong military force and uses that to make life difficult for the Palestinians with checkpoints, curfews, and demolishing permit-less businesses. Only way I can think there would be Palestinian civilian deaths would be in case of collateral damage during targeted strikes against leaders or return fire. (about 1 month ago)

chartsgraphs: Thanks, Natalie. I am back. It looks like this is the best chart so far concerning Second Intifada deaths. I find Swivel to be extremely frustrating to use. Please see their individual casualty details, and the Wikipedia article on the Second Intifada, for info on how all the casualties occurred. The Israeli security forces can be very reckless in their use of force. Even malicious at times, and uncaring of who they kill. (18 days ago)

Classy MIT Frat Guy: I really like this graph. I never gave much thought into whaling and this graph made me do a little research into the topic. The Japanese are the biggest proponent in whaling and both Norway and Iceland exports their whaling catches to Japan. It's main use seems to be food in Japan like all other sea animals. Makes me want to add whale to my list of must try foods next time I visit Japan. It's right there next to dolphin. Yum! (29 days ago)
