Greg "Bananaquit" Tito: Although I have no support for this, I would assume that in less wealthy areas such as Eastern Europe and Siberia, acid rain is still prevalent, since less effort is often put toward helping the environment in poor economies. (4 months ago)
Band of Stability: Dubnium: Although I am happy to see that NOx emissions are going down, I am curious as to how long this data has been kept, because it seems that the amount stayed constant from 1980 to 1999 (4 months ago)
AndrewDydak: I wonder how quickly the actual occurrences of acid decrease after the causing a factor is decreased. (4 months ago)
Jake Davis: It is amazing to see the number of pollutants above legal limits, but at the same time, we need to understand that these pollutants may be in such small concentrations that they do not have an effect on us. And exceeding the limit by .0000000001 is still exceeding the limit, even though that minute fraction may not make a difference. (4 months ago)
Band of Stability: Dubnium: I agree with Jacob (JACOB). I think that the data would be scarier to me if I knew exactly how much each pollutant exceeded the limit, and what the specific pollutants were. (4 months ago)
sharonkim: Ok, so that is semi-frightening that our water isn't as clean as it's presumed to be. Isn't that kind of illegal to deceive the consumers like that, especially if it causes illnesses? How ironic that substances that are supposed to clean the water end up polluting it. Do you think we could sue the water company or the government if someone got sick? (4 months ago)
StaigeDavis: I wonder what is meant, exactly, by "oil pollution", as Natalie and I are doing the same topic in fourth period, and the information about sources of oil spills seems inconsistent wiht what we have found. However, Walter's source says its information comes from the UN Environmental Program, and Natalie and I found our info through the EPA. I'm inclined to that think both sources are accurate, and that they simply define "oil pollution" in a different way. (4 months ago)
Band of Stability: Dubnium: This data is interesting, but what I would like to know is how much oil each percent constitutes, that would give a better idea of exactly how much "3.0%" really is, and show that we are really losing a lot of oil that we could use. (4 months ago)
